As we’re inching closer to the anniversary of MCA’s untimely passing, we may expect tributes to the late Beastie Boys member coming up. James Curran has put together an animated video showcasing Beastie Boys lyrics, which can be seen above. Curran will also hold an art show featuring 35 individual framed prints will be on display and for sale in London (venue TBA) on May 4th – 5th 2013. All sales will be going to charity for cancer care and support. Follow the project’s Tumblr for more information and images.
All prints will also be on show in Berlin during Pictoplasma 2013 from April 10th at Galerie Torstrasse 161.
Exactly one century ago, in 1913, the Art Institute of Chicago became the first art museum in the country to display the work of Pablo Picasso. This February the museum celebrates the special 100-year relationship between Picasso and Chicago by bringing together over 250 of the finest examples of the artist’s paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, and ceramics from private collections in the city, as well as from the museum’s collection, for the first large-scale Picasso exhibition organized by the museum in almost 30 years. The designers at Chambre Sept put a unique twist to playing cards. Instead of the traditional set of suits, Chambre Sept’s deck features Hip hop, Rock, Pop and Fashion Suits. The cards commemorate icons from the world of the music, art, entertainment and fashion in a very minimalist pop art style.
Some of the icons showcased include Kanye West, Jay Z, Lady Gaga, and Michael Jackson.

Fantasista 2013 is a celebration of contemporary football (soccer) art inspired by the rapid rise of the ‘football artist’ in the digital age.
This clip shows the second goal that Diego Armando Maradona scored against England on their run to win the 1986 World Cup title. This goal is usually considered among the best goals ever scored.
