R.I.P. Rap – Guru / Gang Starr Edition @ Sub-T

1900_500035686721456_1200226215_nHead over to Sub-T Lounge on Wednesday April, 3rd where Ground Lift Media and the lovely, Ms. Chicago will be presenting the Guru/Gang Starr edition of R.I.P. Rap. DJ Trew and DJ Scend will be playing nothing but Guru, Gang Starr, and DJ Premier all through the night. There will be a live art exhibit by DMNOLOGY as well as a live beat set by Max & Pore. The event is free before 11PM with an RSVP to, after 11PM the cover will be $5. Check out DJ Scend’s Guru tribute below, he recorded it for his radio show back in 2010. Check out the dope Nike interactive display out in London by the Dutch creative agency, …,staat. The interactive display “shows a number of colorful and whimsical creations that seemingly magically interact with those that pass by.”

New Exhibit: Picasso and Chicago

Picasso_lgExactly one century ago, in 1913, the Art Institute of Chicago became the first art museum in the country to display the work of Pablo Picasso. This February the museum celebrates the special 100-year relationship between Picasso and Chicago by bringing together over 250 of the finest examples of the artist’s paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, and ceramics from private collections in the city, as well as from the museum’s collection, for the first large-scale Picasso exhibition organized by the museum in almost 30 years.
